​  AT DESIGNED CONCRETE SURFACES...

We enjoy the challenge of new projects, and the opportunity for creative collaboration.  In his previous career as a mechanical engineer, head designer Richard Taylor often felt stifled.  All of that changed when he discovered the pleasure of working with concrete.  He now combines his mechanical and material engineering knowledge with his design skills to develop good value solutions and enjoys a creative outlet producing functional “works of art”.

 

Joining Richard is Steve Van Metre, whose positive attitude and hard-working nature are true assets.  Steve’s background in fine art and design, the culinary arts, and fly fishing provide a well-rounded sounding board for the design and construction of our concrete pieces.

 

Rounding out our Crew is Eric Adams and Chase Coyer. “The young guys”, whose quirky energy ensures we don’t get too serious about ourselves, have been a welcome addition.  Eric brings experience and great stories from a past filled with river guiding, longboarding and kite surfing.  Chase Coyer’s past is a little less dangerous, being filled with historic restoration and creating 3-D carvings with found objects and wood.

 

Located in Roanoke Virginia, Designed Concrete Surfaces is centrally located to serve Lynchburg, Smith Mountain Lake, Blacksburg, and the New River Valley, though we will happily travel to Richmond, DC, and farther afield.
